Our school started the training of ISCED4C dental technicians in 2006 both as school-based after-final-exam training and as training outside the school-system (adults).
The duration of the school-based training is 2.5 years and that of the the training of adults is 1.5 years.
70% of total numbers of hours- which is 2000 - is laboratory practice. During the training our students learn how to make removable fixed or combined prostheses as well as implants, and of course, they become adept at CAD-CAM technique.
Our laboratory practice comprises phantom and live work, too. This is why more and more dentists order prostheses from us.
Due to our international connections we are the first to get information about novelties in dental technology. We not only visit trade fairs and exhibitions and take part in further training to keep up with advanced technology but our customers also need it.
This is the situation urging us to put all available new technology into practice. Part of the continuous development are the procurement of High Tech and the systematic enlargement of the dental technology equipment. Our teachers regularly go to professional training, so they familiarize themselves with the latest methods and materials, and thus they are able to work with them as experts. All these efforts give us competitive edge in aesthetic and conventional dentistry.
During the training a great emphasis is on hiring the best masters who can teach the tricks of the trade, so we organize 7-14 day courses in modelling, making ceramic bridge-frame, making. Moulded metal-plate, prosthetics and light-hardening composite masking at different companies in Germany like Merz Dental GmbH (Lütjenburg), Dentaurum GmbH (Ispringen) and Heraeus Kulzer Gmbh (Hannau).
On the other hand we offer the possibility for the companies to present their latest technique and materials in our laboratory.
Our dental students have been taking part in the EU Programme Leonardo Da Vinci. In this programme they spend 8-12 weeks in dental technology laboratories in Germany.
We are proud to have students who enter national prosthetic, modelling and ceramic competitions - first time in 2007 and every year since then - and qualify for the best 10.
We have two dental labs, both having 16-16 seats.The lab is equipped with the latest CAD-CAM technique and has a 3-shaft milling cutter which can produce all kinds of existing zirconium prostheses.
Just naming a few: transocclusal screwed implant, crowns and bridges, structures made with artificial gum, zirconium customized structures, inlays, inlay bridges, telescopic primary crowns and full zirconium anatomic crowns and bridges.
In case of using implant crowns, bridges or so-called "Pretau" bridges a special method - interface - is applied.
All the materials we use have passed CE quality control and are made in Germany.
On request our digital design is made available on-line and thus can be modified after consultation.
In our laboratory we use Dentaurum metal plate, mould waxes, and embedding materials (Rema Exakt, Castorit all Speed). Plaster of Paris, metal and ceramic as well as Signum light polymerizing material come from Heraeus. We use Merz Dental integral / artegral and Golden Exkluziv false teth.
